Pricing & Invoicing: What to Expect

Pricing for accounting services depends upon the amount & complexity of the work, as well as the level of organization of documents that come to me. With that being said, I strive to make pricing & invoicing as transparent as possible.

Tax Work:

I provide my invoice along with the tax return signature pages, and I submit the return immediately upon receipt of payment & signatures. I charge a base rate of $150 and additional flat fees for each additional form a tax return requires. For example, if a tax return has one W-2, business income, and itemized deductions, an estimate of my federal fees would be as follows:

Base fee: $150

W-2: $20

Business income: $100

Itemized deductions: $50

Total quote: $320*

*Please note this is only an example, and is not a comprehensive list of all possible forms I may need to prepare. Additionally, it may be necessary to charge additional fees if documents are not well organized or are incomplete & need to be completed by me.

Bookkeeping:

I charge a standard hourly rate of $115 per hour. Invoices for ongoing services are provided at the end of each month, and invoices for one-time projects are provided monthly at the end of each month or upon project completion, whichever comes soonest. Invoices are due within 15 days of the invoice date. After I establish a baseline of how long your bookkeeping takes each month, we can switch to a flat, recurring fee if you prefer. Total fees for bookkeeping work vary widely depending on your circumstances, but the following are examples of fees you may expect:

  • QuickBooks cleanup - $200 per month of cleanup necessary

  • Ongoing bookkeeping (small business) - $200 to $400 per month

  • Ongoing bookkeeping (medium business) - $400 to $1,500 per month

Registering a New Business:

Registering a business is a relatively streamlined process for all registrations. My base rate is $500 to register a new business, which includes the following services:

  • Registration of a new Tennessee LLC

  • Obtaining an employer identification number (EIN) from the IRS

  • Registering for all applicable Tennessee taxes

  • Registering a local business license

  • For an extra $100, I can elect S-Corporation status with the IRS for you
